SAMIOS (2015)

Pavlos Samios was born in Athens in 1948 and studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts with great masters such as Nikos Nikolaou, Yiannis Moralis and Yiannis Tsarouhis. Since 2000 he is a Professor at the Athens School of Fine Arts  (for the Workshop for traditional painting fresco – Byzantine icons – manuscripts) and he has painted many small churches using the fresco technique. He has presented his work in many solo exhibitions in Greece and abroad while he participated in many important group exhibitions. This short documentary, written and directed by Maria Yiannoulis, Samios welcomes us in his world, at his atmospheric studio in the centre of Athens where he isolates himself in order to create.
