FIREBUG (2023)

Foivos is out to buy things for his newborn child. But news on the radio about a raging wildfire diverts him back to his childhood home. The place he grew up in is a good many miles safe from the flames. It's a different type of fire that draws him to his past. The empty rooms of Foivos' childhood home become flooded with memories surrounding his father's trembling limbs. Something was wrong with him. But no one spoke to Foivos about it. The only thing he knew is that his dad felt his arms and legs were on fire. A fire that grew real in the mind of young Foivos. And after finding him seizing on the floor, little Foivos fled to the field of reeds outside, where he played hide-and-seek with his dad, waiting for him to find him again. To talk to him. To drive away the fear. But he never came. And the fire raged on in his mind. Back in the present, a grown-up Foivos goes back to this hideout in the field of reeds to talk to his childhood self. To tell him all the things he never heard from his own father. To put out the fire once and for all.
