Theodora Valenti
Founder
Theodora grew up watching her father, Nikos Nikolaidis, directing various films, either at their home or in peculiar locations. Her education supported this upbringing further, with a Mass Media degree at Westminster University in London, and Master’s degree in Communication Studies at University of Leeds, while holding a BSc in Shipping. Being her father’s assistant, Theodora was involved in the production of numerous TV advertisements while her experiences included art direction in various short and feature films. She also worked in Greek TV Channel ‘Mega Channel’, in the department of Greek programming, where her duties included reading and assessing scripts, in order to put them in production. In 2011 she founded Marni Films and has been a co-producer of Yorgos Lanthimos’ Alps (2011), Alexis Alexiou’s Wednesday 4:45, and many more.
Mina Dreki
Producer/Managing Director
Working with Marni Films since 2010, dedicated to producing and promoting shorts, docs and features by emerging talents and unique storytellers. Her focus is on projects that can empower new voices and promote sustainable storytelling that could spark international interest. She has a BA in Mass Media and MA in Linguistics from the University of Westminster, London, a second BA in European Studies, and worked in international productions like Mamma Mia! Her shorts have participated at many international festivals (Cannes, Clermont-Ferrand, BFI, Animaze, Molodist, Cairo IFF, Drama IFF, etc.), won Greek Academy Awards and been released by global publishers, such as The New Yorker. She is a member of the Greek Film Academy, alumni Of American Film Showcase (AFS), a mentee at EWA and ACE Producers programmes, has trained in sustainable filming by TFL’s Green Film Lab, and participates at this year’s first Producers Lab at Sarajevo’s Cinelink, DocLisboa’s Nebulae programme and IDFA Academy.
Iro Aidoni
Junior Producer/Production Coordinator
Studied film production at the School of Film Studies, Faculty of Fine Arts in Thessaloniki. Before working for Marni she produced two shorts, “Yawth” and “Sad Girl Weekend” that had an amazing festival round all over the world. She is managing production and post-production workflows, as line or junior producer and is interested in emerging voices of cinema while loves to read (and edit) scripts.
